Music Education: Howard Community College including 6 semesters as a Jazz Ensemble Guitarist and Choir bass/baritone. Selected 3 times as a Spotlight Concert performer in Wes Montgomery and Charlie Parker tribute performances. Studies combine formal jazz training, music theory, ensemble performance, and ear training, which strongly inform how I teach students to understand music beyond simply learning songs

Experience Playing Music: 10+ years of performance experience in church services, ensembles, and live settings. Lead guitarist in a worship band, with experience on electric, acoustic, and bass guitar, and additional experience in drums, piano, and vocals.
Genres of music taught: Various Jazz styles, gospel, contemporary Christian, other styles of sacred music, pop, rock, blues. I am comforatble teaching both reading music and playing by ear, depending on the students' goals.
Personal Teaching Philosophy: Focus on building strong fundamentals while keeping lessons engaging and tailored to each student’s goals. I emphasize both understanding and creativity, helping students become confident, independent musicians in a positive and structured environment.
