"I am not a complete novice when it comes to AV equipment, but am by no means an expert. This is not my first time at Bill's, but this was the first time I needed guidance and assistance. Tim was my salesperson and he was AMAZING. He is apparently new to the store, but you would never know from the way he navifated the store and knew how to help. He was friendly, positive, professional and a pleasure to deal with.
When I got back to where my sound board was and the new equipment didn't make everything work - I immediately called back and talked to Tim... even though he had no reason to trouble shoot with me on the phone, he did... and when we thought we had figured out the problem he was off to price check replacement parts and continue to go above and beyond.
Talking through things with Tim saved the day, and the ceremony (500 people would not have been able to hear a thing without my sound system). We also got everything to work without me spending more money - which was great (we're a public school and don't have a lot to spare), even though he could have told me to come back and buy more equipment (Iwould have done anything at that point to make the ceremony a success).
Tim was a pleasure to deal with and knew how to treat a customer - a rare find in any industry."

I've (well, at first, my grandma) bought no less than (4) drum kits, cymbals, accessories, pedals, hardware, special orders, mics, cables, sticks, heads, cases amd what-ever-the-hell else a touring/hapless/hopeless and now 'hobbyist' musician from not just Bill's, but in most cases, Lou Campagnoli himself.
Bill, I'll continue this legacy with my kids, as it only seems right... they've the store with me for one thing or another... but it'll never be the same without seeing Lou...
Of course I wish the man nothing but sunny days and towering, magestic drives down the middle of some municipal fairway... knowing this day would come... but it does hit me with a touch of sadness...

"I've lived in Catonsville for 3 years and never made it to your legendary store. Prior to moving here, I had heard of Bills and overheard many recommendations to others to "check at Bills" or "Bills would have that" and the like. I am not a musician, so I never had a real need to come in. Well, recently something came up and I did need a rhythm instrument. So I came in. The first time, the selection was so overwhelming -- in a good way, like being in a candy store and wanting to try everything. What fun, checking out instruments, some of which I had never even heard of before. I even met a lovely man playing some beautiful jazz selections on his guitar. He was so proud of his instrument, which was beautiful, and of course he had purchased it at Bills.
Returned again to make my purchases and found the staff to be friendly and helpful, but best of all, of good spirit. If Brian is the gentleman that helped me at check out, then he was great -- good recommendations and he made me feel right at home. He deserves a raise (or at least a customer service award).
A few rhythm instruments haven't made me a musician, so I don't know when I will need to come to Bills again, but if I ever just need a lift, I may stop in to absorb some of the uplifting vibe of your shop. And, I'll be sure to tell others "check at Bills" or "Bills would have that".

"I can't say enough good things about Bill's Music. The selection is top-notch, the staff are friendly and helpful (Rebekah was great, as were the other staff I dealt with) and the store is an inspiring place for a musician to hang out and browse. This week I drove out to Bill's even though a certain massive chain store is right near my house - in fact I went there first & then went to Bill's. Why? For a few simple reasons: Bill's had the guitar I was looking for while the chain store did not; at Bill's, employees come right up and ask if you need help, plus are upbeat and willing to kid around; and at Bill's, the guitars are in tune when you pick them up to try them out. When I complained at the chain store that all their guitars were out of tune (like, not even close) - even the expensive acoustics! - their employee said, "But we have over 300 guitars here!" I wonder what they do all day over there... Bill's has a fine selection and it's ready to sing out. That just shows who owns the place - a musician. Thanks, Bill!"

"I just bought a Journey OF420 Travel Guitar from Bill's Music, because I had no instrument to play when we flew someplace. It folds up into a backpack and actually LOOKS like a guitar when put together! What a concept! Super-fast service! The instrument was well-packed and easy to assemble (if I can do it, anybody can do it!), and when I called them to thank them for their fast service, they gave me a few pointers on adjustments to the guitar! " I am most delighted with it! It's as if I ordered it customized to my exacting spec's. The short scale neck (24 3/4" from nut to saddle) is easy on my aging arthritic fingers. With the dreadnought size, it delivers a hearty, robust woody timbre that will only get better over time. It's still a little stiff, as all new acoustics are. I had thought my dreadnought days were over. After it gets played in, it will become a beast! Walnut/Sitka is a great combination. Thanks much Paul, for your valuable assistance and follow ups. My name is Darryl. I was in town visiting my fiance's family on thursday the 10th. I stopped in your store and was in awe at how enormous it was! Immediately i was greeted by several smiling employees. When the need to ask a question arose, most of the associates were busy, so i patiently waited until a young man named Logan approached me with a smile. He had seemed to be rather busy with putting away merchandise so i refused his help, but he insisted. I had questions regarding the Bauhaus Tenor Sax and he provided excellent answers and recommendations. I noticed the phrase "stage helper" or something to that effect under the name on his shirt and i asked what it meant. He explained his job description and how he isnt a salesmen, yet he provided EXCELLENT customer service. A young man named Nino (i believe) was also very courteous. When im ready to purchase, Bills is where im going!
