I went to Bill's Music House the other day because I needed a heavy duty cart to move my drums for a gig. Bill's had exactly what I needed. Bill's has always had what I needed since the mid-1970s. At 16, Bill himself gave me my first credit so that I could purchase an amp for my first band. Bill, Brian, Jamie... Nino and all the staff treat you more like family than customers. For me, Bill's Music House is like the Cheers of music stores.

The guitar was just over $90 and it is a full size steel string. I am very pleased by the sound and it plays nicely and I use it for classical music and the sound is Rich not only from the strings but also the body of the guitar. It is made with craftsmanship and is not made cheaply and for the price it plays amazingly. Bill's music has a lot of good deals on different guitars but this one particular was a steal. Not only is the tone of the guitar nice but the guitar plays powerfully and I'm not saying that just because it's a full size guitar. I'm saying it because the actual material of the wood and how the guitar is shaped makes it play with vibrations that sound rich and full and perfect for intense guitar playing and the classical guitar playing that I work on. When I came into the store a nice man who work there help me locate a full size steel string guitar and it not only plays nicely for songs but the notes and the tone for individual notes and chords sound very rich and intense. It just goes to show the lesson that the price of an instrument is not dependent on how good it sounds and the player is what makes an instrument sing. Thank you.

I had a 'musical emergency ' and needed a new looping pedal for a gig that night. The staff was INCREDIBLE at getting back to me immediately and Nino had a few different options set up for me when I arrived. Bill's Music is a treasure, a rare treat in how Music stores should be. They have an incredible selection of Guitars, Basses, Amps, Pianos, Drums, Bluegrass instruments and more as well as a knowledgeable repair and customer service staff. So far I've bought two guitars there (one new, one used) and 2 amps, a tiny Marshall practice amp, and a much more powerful Spark Mini practice amp by Positive Grid. The used Fender Kahler strat is my main guitar these days, and the Epiphone Casino I just got has a wonderful unique sound that John Lennon used on some of the best Beatles songs ever. My Salesman Matt was very knowledgable and answered all my questions but also allowed me time to just roam around. He went out of his way to recharge the Spark Mini so I could try it, and also explain that there is an app that contains virtual pedals and amp heads for it. You can't beat their service, or there selection of quality used and new instruments. If you haven't been there, go!

Was shopping for some used old school, WOOD, PASSIVE PA speakers. The gentleman with dark hair & glasses,(didn't get his name)was very helpful. He set me up with some Yamaha 15's in great condition at an excellent price. They didn't have a big selection of used passive speakers in pro audio, so he took me into an additional storage area, & blam their they were. I dropped off a guitar for repairs - Ron & Gib have been taking care of my guitars for a long time and do fantastic work - and on my way out spotted a used Telecaster that I just had to check out. "I am not a complete novice when it comes to AV equipment, but am by no means an expert. This is not my first time at Bill's, but this was the first time I needed guidance and assistance. Tim was my salesperson and he was AMAZING. He is apparently new to the store, but you would never know from the way he navifated the store and knew how to help. He was friendly, positive, professional and a pleasure to deal with.
When I got back to where my sound board was and the new equipment didn't make everything work - I immediately called back and talked to Tim... even though he had no reason to trouble shoot with me on the phone, he did... and when we thought we had figured out the problem he was off to price check replacement parts and continue to go above and beyond.
Talking through things with Tim saved the day, and the ceremony (500 people would not have been able to hear a thing without my sound system). We also got everything to work without me spending more money - which was great (we're a public school and don't have a lot to spare), even though he could have told me to come back and buy more equipment (Iwould have done anything at that point to make the ceremony a success).
Tim was a pleasure to deal with and knew how to treat a customer - a rare find in any industry."

Ron performed his magic on my old Ovation with his perfected "Super Tune", then Ernesto hooked me up with a fine used Ovation Deep Bowl hard case. "I've lived in Catonsville for 3 years and never made it to your legendary store. Prior to moving here, I had heard of Bills and overheard many recommendations to others to "check at Bills" or "Bills would have that" and the like. I am not a musician, so I never had a real need to come in. Well, recently something came up and I did need a rhythm instrument. So I came in. The first time, the selection was so overwhelming -- in a good way, like being in a candy store and wanting to try everything. What fun, checking out instruments, some of which I had never even heard of before. I even met a lovely man playing some beautiful jazz selections on his guitar. He was so proud of his instrument, which was beautiful, and of course he had purchased it at Bills.
Returned again to make my purchases and found the staff to be friendly and helpful, but best of all, of good spirit. If Brian is the gentleman that helped me at check out, then he was great -- good recommendations and he made me feel right at home. He deserves a raise (or at least a customer service award).
A few rhythm instruments haven't made me a musician, so I don't know when I will need to come to Bills again, but if I ever just need a lift, I may stop in to absorb some of the uplifting vibe of your shop. And, I'll be sure to tell others "check at Bills" or "Bills would have that".

"I can't say enough good things about Bill's Music. The selection is top-notch, the staff are friendly and helpful (Rebekah was great, as were the other staff I dealt with) and the store is an inspiring place for a musician to hang out and browse. This week I drove out to Bill's even though a certain massive chain store is right near my house - in fact I went there first & then went to Bill's. Why? For a few simple reasons: Bill's had the guitar I was looking for while the chain store did not; at Bill's, employees come right up and ask if you need help, plus are upbeat and willing to kid around; and at Bill's, the guitars are in tune when you pick them up to try them out. When I complained at the chain store that all their guitars were out of tune (like, not even close) - even the expensive acoustics! - their employee said, "But we have over 300 guitars here!" I wonder what they do all day over there... Bill's has a fine selection and it's ready to sing out. That just shows who owns the place - a musician. Thanks, Bill!"

" I am most delighted with it! It's as if I ordered it customized to my exacting spec's. The short scale neck (24 3/4" from nut to saddle) is easy on my aging arthritic fingers. With the dreadnought size, it delivers a hearty, robust woody timbre that will only get better over time. It's still a little stiff, as all new acoustics are. My name is Darryl. I was in town visiting my fiance's family on thursday the 10th. I stopped in your store and was in awe at how enormous it was! Immediately i was greeted by several smiling employees. When the need to ask a question arose, most of the associates were busy, so i patiently waited until a young man named Logan approached me with a smile. He had seemed to be rather busy with putting away merchandise so i refused his help, but he insisted. So it was very nice to enter an environment musically where everything was organically real. Matt's expertise and passion for music were evident as he guided me through the process of selecting the perfect gear. After much contemplation, I finally settled on the PRS Silver Sky, a guitar that truly captivated me. I purchased a Tim Henson Signature guitar from Bills, the TOD10N-TKF. This guitar from right out of the box at Bills as been GREAT!! The intonation is perfect, the notes stay tuned all-the-way up and down the fret board. I waited two months for the guitar, but it was well worth the wait, and Bill's has a excellent staff of very knowledgeable people that are true professionals in every sense of the word "professional". Also, this Tim Henson Signature Guitar sounds excellent, octave tones up-and-down the fret board are great. The electronics of the guitar are very good; the tuner works very well, the adjustments between my amp and the guitar work in harmony with each other. Very pleased with both Bill's and this wonderful addition, that is this being my second Ibanez guitar. Oh, did I mention, that this guitar is very easy to play, the strings, the action, the fret board width and curve of the neck all lend themselves to great play-ability. Mr. Christian at Bill's is a very diligent and professional employee, thanks Christian!

I am a casual guitar player and have been playing off and on for 40 years with some long breaks due to a busy life. I've had a couple of wrist surgeries in recent years. When I began playing again recently I felt that I had "lost something" because my fretting was not clean, I was not clearing adjacent strings and the intonation never seemed just right. At the advice of a neighbor, I took my 40 year old Strat and my Jumbo acoustic for a Super Tune.
I can't overstate how ecstatic I am about the work that was done. I had been playing with the guitars in poor adjustment for so long that I didn't know just how bad it was. When I got home and started playing, chording was clean and effortless. The intonation was spot on. My Jumbo (which had never been professionally set up before) is such a joy to play that I am able to play things that were too difficult and frustrating before
