Vintage 1954 Gibson S400CE Super 400 Archtop Electric Guitar - Sunburst Finish
This guitar is in over-all excellent, well-kept cosmetic condition! There are NO structural issues. There are no issues with the neck or playability. There are just a few scratches and minor dings. The pickguard has a chip on the edge. In addition, the pickguard is warped. The 1st string bridge saddle has been replaced. The binding is intact. The frets are in excellent condition. There is not buzzing. The guitar has been set-up and is ready to rock!
The previous owner bought this guitar used in 1967 in downtown Baltimore, not too far from our store location. It's quite possible that there may have only been two owners.
To our knowledge, the following items are NOT original: The tailpiece is from a ES-150T guitar. The pickups are not original and the pickup cavity has been routed slightly to accept the humbucking pickups. The current Gibson pickups installed in this guitar have a Patent No. 2737 842 stamped on the back of each pickup. The frets appear to be original. Everything else appears to be original.
Made in Kalamazoo, Mich. Serial #: A15273. This guitar weighs approximately 7 pounds, 7 ounces.
Includes original case with orange interior as pictured. The case is in excellent condition.
