Bajo Quinto | Sitka Spruce Top | Big Leaf Maple Back and Sides | Hard Rock Maple Neck | West African Crelicam Ebony Fretboard | EMG ACS Acoustic Soundhole Humbucker Pickup Electronics | Florentine Cutaway
Built to reflect the sound and style of Mexican music traditions, the 657ce Bajo Quinto combines a completely unique tone profile with modern Taylor touches to offer a truly singular instrument for adventurous players. The 10-string Bajo Quinto is tuned in fourths to A-D-G-C-F, with the A and D doubled in octaves and the G, C and F tuned in unison. Back and sides of solid Big Leaf maple and a solid Sitka spruce top combine with Taylor's Grand Pacific round-shoulder dreadnought body shape and our tone-boosting V-Class bracing to produce a clear, resonant musical character that sounds unlike anything else Taylor has created. Original Taylor enhancements include a new offset bridge pin/string ramp configuration that allows each pair of strings to sing with optimal touch responsiveness without interfering with each other. The Bajo Quinto takes visual inspiration from classic Mexican styles, with a sharp Florentine cutaway offering access to the upper register, a striking white pearloid double pickguard with a matching truss rod cover, mother-of-pearl Mission inlays outlined in grained ivoroid, ebony bridge pins with green abalone dots, and gold mini-tuners. It includes a EMG ACS Acoustic Soundhole Humbucker Pickup and ships in a deluxe Western Floral hardshell case.

A Taylor Take on a Traditional Sound and Style
Signature Taylor innovations lend the Bajo Quinto a modern feel to complement a sound inspired by a rich musical tradition.

Grand Pacific
This round-shoulder dreadnought delivers a new flavor of warm, rich Taylor tone.

Big Leaf Maple
Though mostly known as a body wood, maple offers a dry, midrange-centric tone profile when used as a soundboard.

Sitka Spruce
The soundboard choice for most guitars, Sitka spruce produces a broad dynamic range and accommodates a versatile range of playing styles.

EMG ACS Acoustic Soundhole Humbucker Pickup
The ACS is EMG's solution for players looking for a great amplified acoustic guitar tone without the feedback issues. Offering a broader frequency range and less noise than a piezo pickup, the EMG ACS delivers authentic acoustic tone with enough volume to play alongside a large band. With adjustable pole pieces, the sound hole pickup can be tailored to your needs for both live and studio playing.

Florentine Cutaway
A Florentine cutaway comes to a sharp point, creating a horn-like shape. It is commonly used on our Grand Orchestra and Grand Symphony body styles.

V-Class Bracing
Our patented V-Class bracing is a revolutionary new pattern — a new sonic engine — that marks a major shift away from traditional steel-string bracing patterns.
