ESP LTD Mirage Deluxe '87 FR - Pearl Pink

Solidbody Electric Guitar with Alder Body, Maple Neck, Ebony Fingerboard, and 2 Humbucking Pickups - Pearl Pink

Capturing the Mojo of the '87 ESP Catalog

ESP's 1987 catalog introduced a range of new, colorful instruments that set the music world abuzz. To provide today's players with a slice of that magic pie, LTD has introduced the Mirage Deluxe '87 FR — a to-spec reproduction of the legendary 1987 Mirage. This Super S-style guitar is outfitted with an alder body, a 3-piece bolt-on maple neck, and a Macassar ebony fingerboard. Seymour Duncan humbuckers give this axe its hot-rodded voice. You'll find that it'll easily cover most genres, thanks to the onboard coil-splitting harness. It wouldn't be a Super S-style guitar if it couldn't do whammy tricks, so LTD added a Floyd Rose 1000 tremolo bridge. So whether you want to re-live the glory days or grab a piece of guitar history, the LTD Mirage Deluxe '87 FR is an excellent choice.

Dual humbucking pickups deliver a wide array of tones

For some serious hot-rodded tone, the Mirage Deluxe is loaded with a pair of Seymour Duncan pickups. There's a Hot Rail in the neck position that delivers a hot, beefy tone that's ideal for classic rock and metal applications. Flip the 3-way switch to the bridge pickup, and you'll activate the Distortion humbucker. This high-output pickup delivers tonal mayhem that would make any old-school rocker proud. You can use the push-pull volume pot to unlock extra sonic potential. Once you plug it in, the LTD Mirage Deluxe will wow you with its impressive sonic options.

Built for performance

It's no secret that the LTD Mirage Deluxe '87 FR was built as an homage to the hot-rodded guitars of a bygone era. This choice had a major impact on the design of the guitar itself. This is because this axe is built for one thing, and one thing only — performance. As such, it needs to play fast, melt faces, and look like no other guitar onstage. This incarnation of the Mirage has an Extra Thin 3-piece maple neck with an ebony fingerboard. Extra-jumbo frets enable huge bends in almost any location. Finally, the Floyd Rose 1000 bridge allows you to perform whammy tricks like the "bad horsies" or dive-bombs without slipping out of tune. If you can imagine it, the LTD Mirage Deluxe '87 FR can probably play it.

ESP LTD ’87 Reissue Series

Throughout the late 1970s and early 1980s, Tokyo-based Electric Sound Products grew a reputation for producing well-crafted interpretations of classic designs, under both the ESP and Navigator brands. In 1983, high-quality replacement parts from ESP started infiltrating the US market. Popular guitarists of the time, including Helmet’s Page Hamilton, Living Colour’s Vernon Reid, and the Rolling Stones’ Ronnie Wood, were so impressed that they began to commission custom ESP guitars. Coming into their creative own, ESP expanded their design repertoire with bold new body and neck designs and hot-rodded electronics packages aimed at contemporary guitarists looking to push their sonic boundaries. In 1987, ESP launched its updated product line, introducing a number of imaginative guitars and basses that would become instant classics. ESP’s LTD ’87 Series pulls from the pages of the ESP 1987 catalog, faithfully re-creating the first full set of ESP instruments — designs that would set the course for decades of design innovation.
