Teaching since: I have been teaching music since 2005

Teaching at Bill’s since: I taught previously for Bill's Music back in 2012 and returned in 2022

Experience playing music: Since learning drums as a teenager I have always enjoyed playing for my church band on Sundays.  In college, I played in Jazz band, Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble and was in a Rock band for 7 years.  I also played in a small Jazz combo with my roommate in college.  Currently, I play music with my 2 kids at church and for different church community events when asked.

Genres of music taught: I teach classical percussion for snare drum and glockenspiel (bells). I also teach Rock and Roll, and Afro-Cuban drumming.

EducationI studied music education with a concentration in Percussion at Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, NY where I received a Bachelor’s of Science degree.

Personal teaching style/philosophy: I want people to have a blast learning music. My goal is for folks to feel very comfortable and relaxed when learning with me because that is how I am. I have a very calm and laid-back personality and I would hope people feel that when entering the studio. Ultimately, I want people to work hard but also to have a very positive, and joyous experience learning an instrument. This should be fun!
